Sophie Amelia Hair is a Green Collective Salon

Did you know that only 1% of salons recycle their foil? The Sophie Amelia team is all for being kinda to the planet and the animals and is now a @greensaloncollective salon - we have bins for every kind of recycling! Including our foil.

GREEN SALON COLLECTIVE is a startup of hairdressers and eco campaigners on a mission to hairdressing sustainability.

We can collect almost 100% of all salon waste (including hair!) and find new uses for it that reward the environment, the community, and the salon.

Hair – We even recycle this. Hair can be used to soak up oil spills in the form of Hair Mats & Hair Booms. It can be used for gardening & composting as well as be used to create wigs for children.

Metals – Many councils can’t or won’t take used hairdressing foil or colours tubes because the metals are too contaminated, we are able to recycle 100% of all salon metals.

Chemicals – Salons often look pretty, however, pouring excess colour & bleach down the sink or into landfill is an ugly solution. We take all leftover colour and bleach and recycle it well away from the waterways or landfill

Plastics – Shampoo bottles, combs, clips or even your lunch wrapper we either take it or are working on a solution.

Paper- This seems easy enough, but did you know paper coffee cups cannot be recycled in any council recycling, they need to go to specialists, like us.

We can also take, organic waste, batteries, e-waste, hairdryers, coffee pods, and glass.
